Hello everyone,
We stayed around ten days in Inuvik where we met a lot of people who were interested in our 4x4 and curious in what brought us this far North! The return on the Dempster Hwy was as great as the go, plenty of wildlife and especially beautiful scenery that make us we spent hours filming.
The "end" of the road is the town of Dawson, the last town before crossing the Canadian border to Alaska on "Top of the World Highway".
What has happened to Dawson? The city seems to get stuck in the time of the gold rush, no streets paved, facades saloon looked, and cancan! Out of the question to don’t stop at the Cabaret / Casino / Bar / Restaurant / Entertainment / gold digger place.
The next day we were on the famous "Top of the World Hwy" to get us in the USA, super fast border crossing and here we are in Alaska!

50 km of slopes leads to the city / gas station /
campground of Chicken. We had planned to refuel but the only store mainly sells
t-shirts ... and prospecting equipment ... so we do not have food, but now have
a gold pan! After 2 hours the hands in the stream, we finally found something! Not
enough to pay for a full diesel tank but may be enough for a beer ... No nugget
but flakes, and just enough to make you want to continue to look at during our
state crossing.
It is now more than 1O days we are in Alaska and we did not see the time passing, we quickly adopted the local customs: climbing mountains, exploring creeks, salmon fishing and especially beware of bears!
We go slowly towards Seward hoping to be on time for the the "Red and Silver" salmon rush !
See u Soon, Katia and Ivan.
