Suite... (English follow)
Le jour ou l'on a quitté McBride, il s'est mis a neiger, a neiger
beaucoup....en approchant des rocheuses, ça s'est transformé en tempête
de neige !
Le matin après avoir dormit prés de Jasper, on s'est réveillé
avec de la glace dans la voiture, beaucoup de glace dans la voiture. Le
thermomètre indiquait -12°C..."Pourtant c'est pas si froid, (on
commence à avoir l'habitude) c'est marrant il fait quand même un peu
plus froid que d'habitude ce matin!". Ce matin là la voiture a grognée
un peu pour démarrer. Une heure plus tard, nous apprenions au magasin du
coin qu'il fait en fait -33°C...c'est là que nous avons découvert que
notre thermomètre était toasté !!
La dame du magasin nous dit que
les prochain jours, la températures va descendre en dessous de -40°C. On
arrête les bêtises et on prend une chambre chez l'habitant. Pendant que
nous avions nos fesses au chaud, la voiture passait un sale quart
d'heure: les bidons d'eau ont explosés dans la voiture, tout ce qui avait
des batteries a rendu l'âme, et cerise sur le gâteau: le diesel a
gelée!!
Alors soit on attend la fin de l'hiver que la voiture dégèle,
soit on la remorque jusqu'à un garage chauffé ou elle va décongeler
pendant 18 heures... on n'est pas très patient et notre visa expire en
mars, alors on fait décongeler la voiture!
Une fois la voiture
de nouveau en état et la route dégagée des avalanches, on peut enfin
traverser les rocheuses Canadiennes. Y'a tellement de neige qu'on se
balade en raquettes maintenant.
Arrivé à Banff, on rejoint Jim et Abbie, deux Canadiens rencontrés à McBride. Avec eux, on va découvrir les environs de Banff...en raquette toujours.
On commence bien a s'habituer aux températures et quand la vague de froid se calme et qu'on remonte à -20°C, on trouve qu'il fait presque bon!
Maintenant direction Calgary pour des visas Américains, dans une voiture qui n'est plus un glaçon et ...qui file...file...jusqu'à ce que la boite de vitesse nous lâche sur l'autoroute!

So either we wait for the end of winter that the car defrost or we have it tow to an heated garage where it will melt for 18 hours ... we are not very patient and our visa expires in March, so we thawed the car!
Once the car again on the road and avalanches cleaned on the road, we finally crossed the Canadian Rockies. There's so much snow that now, we go everywhere snowshoeing.
Arriving in Banff, we joined Jim and Abbie, two Canadians met in McBride. With them, we explored the surroundings of Banff snowshoeing ... of course!
When the cold wave stoped and temperatures went back to -20 ° C, we found it almost warm!
Now we are heading to Calgary for US visas, in a car that is no longer an ice cube ... and that run ... run ... until we lost a part of the gearbox on the highway!
